Job Description: Commissioning Manager Mental Health - NHS Band 7

We are looking to recruit a Mental Health Commissioning Manager with NHS experience at NHS band 7 level or equivalent for a period of 12 weeks.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience of leading projects in complex and challenging environments.
Specialist knowledge across a range of procedures is desirable, underpinned by theory knowledge of commissioning procedures, acquired through degree or equivalent experience and training, plus further management and commissioning knowledge to post graduate diploma level equivalent or significant and up to date experience working at the same level as a Commissioning Manager.
You will support the Associate Director of Mental Health and the locality clinical leads to ensure that their workstream of programmes are planned and managed effectively and take the lead in assisting in their successful delivery.
The role would involve working with the Heads of Commissioning and the locality clinical leads to ensure that the appropriate services are commissioned to enable providers to meet local and national targets. This includes supporting senior and locality colleagues to ensure adherence to, and delivery of, targets across the whole health & care community. You will ensure robust mechanisms, service specifications and performance measures are in place to enable effective performance management of individual contracts.
Working closely with the Performance and Information team, ensuring data is collected and collated and reports delivered to allow timely and informed decision making.
Ensure timely and accurate information analysis and reporting to management on agreed areas of work.
Contribute to the development of key performance indicators for the successful assessment of individual and workstream success.
Contribute to the strategic planning of the overall mental health team projects, identifying interdependencies across projects / functions, potential impacts on wider organisation, resource requirements and building in contingency and adjustments as necessary.
Contribute to the development of performance and governance strategies and the development and implementation of improvement programmes, in accordance with locality priorities.
Contribute to short, medium and long term business plans, achieving quality outcomes.
Present information and issues, explaining highly complex issues, to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.You would be required to work remotely however may be required to work at any of the offices at any time during their contract.
